What we measure differently
Three choices that make our numbers different.

A map, not a grade
We don’t give you one number to be judged on. You get an Authority map where each pillar reads “You’re mentioned”, “Shared answer” or “Not mentioned” per engine, and each cell points to a task. A map tells you where to go. A grade only tells you how it went. See the glossary (in Norwegian).

Market, not language
Our unit is the market, and the language is a property of the market. A guest in the Netherlands and a guest in Germany can get different answers to the same question, because the engine can read different sources in the two countries. That’s why we measure per market, and add the market you’re going for.

Tourism’s own questions
The questions we ask the engines are the ones guests actually ask: place, season, experience, guest and market. The source mix we read is the destination company, the booking sites and the profiles the guest meets along the way. How it works.

What’s the difference between an agency and a subscription here?
CitationLab offers both the platform AI Marketing Manager, which you run yourself, and agency services where they do the work. With us you buy the tool and do the work yourself on Basis and Pro, or you buy Vekst or Program and let us read the map, pick the tasks and write the drafts.
Which engines are measured?
CitationLab states the AI models ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, and the search engines Google Search, Google AI Mode and Bing. AEO Start covers ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google. Lykt measures five engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Basis measures three engines, Pro, Vekst and Program all five.
Both offer a free check. What’s the difference?
CitationLab states a free AI visibility check and a 14-day trial on the platform. Our AI Check is three questions in two of your guests’ languages across three engines, and the report shows who was mentioned, which sources the engine read and one concrete suggestion, within one working day.
